By Goldilocks
I developed a bad habit of wanting a latte or cappucino everyday. Although I didn't indulge everyday due to expense ($3.50 a latte), I wanted to. Then I saw this little coffee pot advertised, and I got it right away. After I got the knack of putting on the pressure pump, it has delivered for me. In a jiffy, I have the best capuccino or latte at a fraction of my former expense. And it is every bit as good as I got in a coffee shop-- the frothing is excellent. I am so glad I saw this machine and ordered it. My calculation was that it will pay for itself in less than 60 days. This has been my happiest purchase this year. So indulgent, yet so smart to do. And because I bought caffeine-free expresso... I have my drinks day or night... whenever I want.

When I first bought this machine I was really excited. I owned the Bialetti stovetop version, which is very popular in Italy. After TWO months of using this, my machine began to get moldy at the very bottom and the top. Basically, it started to oxidize. I hand wash this machine along with my stovetop, so I was following the directions without any issues. I finally called Bialetti and they suggested using baking soda with water, and then vinegar. Nothing helped and it started to smell.I was told to send it back to them. After wasting $10 shipping it to CA, the lady told me that I used a dishwasher and therefore was not qualified under warranty. I live in an old townhouse apartment, with no dishwasher. She then started to say that they don't cover oxidization. Buyer beware, I've only owned this for a few months and basically the warranty is useless! Aluminum + water + time = bound to happen to any machine.Pros: Quick cappuccino, cheaper than some other versions, small, easier once you get the hang of it.Cons: Hard to disassemble to wash (you're supposed to do it immediately to prevent oxidation, but that's hard considering the bottom is hot). It spills coffee if you don't assemble it correctly. You are supposed to use WATER ONLY. No soap. According to many reviews and Williams Sonoma representatives (who also sells this brand), the inside does eventually get black and can smell, so lots of maintenance required. My advice is to get a milk frother. This machine seams cheaper than a cappuccino machine, but in reality you're throwing your money away.

I received the Bialetti 1-Cup Electric Mukka Express Cappuccino Maker after a very disappointing experience with Krups latest item. Upon returning Krups for a full refund, I was pleasantly surprised by this small machine. What makes this machine so great is:1-it is easy to use, just add water, espresso grounds, and milk (will even froth fat-free milk!)2-plug in the base and push the button, then just go about your business as this little miracle brews and froths a tasty surprise for you (it takes 5-6 mintues)3-easy to pour and wash. No small parts that will break or get lost and the parts seem to be VERY durable4-the design is very handsome and easy to store on your counter top until next use since it is small thus not taking up much roomI would recommend this product to any casual coffee/cappuccino drinker who enjoys a tasty brew during the week and doesn't want to fork out money to trot to "4 Bucks"
