I have had this Frabosk Roma foam maker, with nary a complaint, for well over 13 years. Found it at the original Peet's Coffee store, in Berkeley,CA. Never, ever a problem - until last month - when, after thousands of uses and an almost equal number of washes in our dishwasher, the black round ball that sits atop the stem of the plunger, cracked and will not be home-repaired...all forms of glue and tape have failed. I am now in the market for a replacement ball...In this day in age, where everything seems to want to be disposed of, I pray I only need to find a source for its little black ball...Buy this with confidence. Tip - You can easily wash the foam press by putting in a 1/2 cup of hot tap water, a couple of drops of dishwashing soap and plunging away; rinse in hot water and you are ready for the next cup of foam topped coffee...this way you bypass the heat that probably weakened the seam of the ball....

Used to have an electric cappuccino/espresso maker with a steam nozzle for frothing milk. Good machine while it lasted, but it was on its last legs. I decided to go completely "low tech" in replacing it, with a stove top espresso maker and this frother. Couldn't be happier. Pour some milk in the container, warm it on the stove for a bit, briefly pump it up, and... perfetto!

I love forthed milk in my coffee and have been looking for the perfect frother without having to pay hundreds of $$ for a maker. This one is nice, once I expermineted with it more then what the directions say. They say to heat the milk on the stove in the frother, but that's really hard to do without 1. burning the milk and over flowing it on the stove or 2. not getting it warm enough. I then tried to add some of the hot coffee to the milk rather than heating it and after a lot of pumping of the lid, it seemed to give it a nice froth. Takes a lot of pumping though but worth it to get the froth. It is easy to clean, unless you burn the milk which is very easy to do. Another tip is to fully pump it. Not short little pumps, but pull the plunger all the out, that seems to help too. And it can get messy if you have too much milk in it, so be careful. May take a few tries, but if you like frothed milk, this can do the job with some work.
